Migration guide
Move your dives out of the Suunto app
The Suunto app is fine at pairing with a modern Suunto and much less interested in being a logbook. Divers leave it for the same handful of reasons: it will not touch their older computer, the log view is thin, and everything lives inside one manufacturer's account.
Move your dives, step by step
Open the Suunto app and find the export option for your dives, under the activity or logbook menu depending on the app version.
Export the dives to a file and save it somewhere you can reach from the Files app.
Move the exported file to your phone: AirDrop, iCloud Drive or email all work, anything that puts it in the iOS Files app.
In SeaLog, tap the plus button, then Import dives, then the matching format.
Pick the file. Every dive arrives with its depth profile, and anything already in your logbook is skipped rather than duplicated.
If the app will not export in a format SeaLog reads, download the computer directly instead. SeaLog pairs with the Bluetooth Suunto models itself, so the app never has to be in the middle.
What survives the move
✅ Comes across
- Date, time, duration and maximum depth
- Depth profile, when the export carries samples
- Water temperature and gas
⚠️ Does not
- Suunto account features that only exist inside the Suunto app
Whatever comes in can go back out: SeaLog exports the whole logbook to UDDF, CSV or PDF at any time. We would rather you could leave than have to trust us.
Read your computer directly instead
If the software is the broken part, going straight to the hardware is often faster.
Questions
Do I have to delete the Suunto app?
No. Nothing stops you keeping both. Most divers end up downloading straight into SeaLog because it is one step shorter, but the computer does not mind who talks to it.
