Suunto DM5 is discontinued. Your dives are not.
Suunto Dive Manager 5 was retired, and with it the only official way to read a Zoop, Vyper, D4i, D6i or Cobra. The Suunto app that replaced it only pairs with the newer Bluetooth models, so an entire generation of divers is holding a computer full of dives and a desktop app nobody supports any more. The dives are still there. DM5 still runs on the machine you installed it on, and it can still write a file.
Move your dives, step by step
Open DM5 on the machine where it is still installed, and let it finish loading your logbook.
Select the dives you want, or all of them, then use File and Export.
Choose UDDF if your DM5 version offers it. It preserves the depth profile sample by sample. If it does not, export the .sde archive or a CSV and keep the file safe either way.
Move the exported file to your phone: AirDrop, iCloud Drive or email all work, anything that puts it in the iOS Files app.
In SeaLog, tap the plus button, then Import dives, then the matching format.
Pick the file. Every dive arrives with its depth profile, and anything already in your logbook is skipped rather than duplicated.
If DM5 will not start at all on a current Windows or macOS install, Subsurface can read most Suunto computers directly over the original cable and export UDDF for you. That route skips DM5 entirely.

Whatever comes in can go back out: SeaLog exports the whole logbook to UDDF, CSV or PDF at any time. We would rather you could leave than have to trust us.

Is there a Suunto DM5 alternative that runs on a modern Mac?
For reading the computer itself, Subsurface is the practical answer: it is free, open source, actively maintained, and supports the Suunto models DM5 used to cover. For keeping and enjoying the logbook afterwards, SeaLog imports the UDDF that Subsurface or DM5 exports and gives you the dives on your phone with profiles, maps and photos.
Can I import DM5 dives into an iPhone app directly?
Not from DM5 itself, because it is Windows and macOS desktop software with no phone counterpart. The route is always the same: export a file on the desktop once, move that file to your phone, import it. After that you never have to open DM5 again.
What happens to my Zoop or Vyper now?
It keeps working as a dive computer. What it lost is its official download software. Those models transfer over the original Suunto USB cable, so a one-time download on a desktop with Subsurface rescues the history, and you can log new dives straight into SeaLog on the boat.
