Dive computer sync

How to import dives from a Uemis dive computer

No Uemis model in the catalog has a radio, so every transfer goes through a cable and a file. Pick your exact model below for the steps that apply to it.

Uemis models that need a cable

An iPhone cannot open a serial or USB connection to a dive computer. These go through a Mac or PC once, then into SeaLog as a UDDF file.

Uemis downloads, drivers and manuals

Completely gone. uemis AG went into liquidation in June 2011, the uemis.com domain now redirects to an unrelated venture-capital firm, and because the ZURICH SDA was designed as a cloud-only logbook there is no vendor software left to install. Subsurface is the only thing that still reads one.

Worth knowing

  • uemis AG entered bankruptcy proceedings on 21 June 2011. Nothing of the company's web presence remains: the uemis.com domain now lands on an unrelated venture-capital firm's website, so do not follow search results pointing there expecting support.
  • The ZURICH SDA was built around a strict online-logbook concept in which dives synchronised only to uemis's own servers, with no local download option. When the servers went, so did every dive that had not been read off the device.
  • This is the one brand in this batch that libdivecomputer does not cover. Subsurface implements its own dedicated uemis downloader instead, which is why other libdivecomputer-based loggers cannot help here.
  • The device is read as a mounted USB storage volume rather than through a serial or Bluetooth port, so the import flow in Subsurface is different from every other computer: you point it at a mount point. That also means the download is unavailable on platforms where Subsurface cannot mount USB storage, notably mobile.
  • No manual, firmware or driver is obtainable from the manufacturer, and no successor company took the brand on.

One logbook for all of it

SeaLog keeps every dive in one place whichever computer it came from, with the depth profile intact, and exports back out to UDDF whenever you want it.
