Alive but thin, and partly superseded. The site, shop, help desk, manual and firmware archive all still work, but the product's rights and forward development moved to McLean Extreme, and the vendor never shipped a logging application, pointing owners at Subsurface and MacDive instead.

Worth knowing

  • Tecdiving builds under its own brands and also as an OEM for others, which is why this computer shows up in third-party software as the literal string DiveComputer.eu.
  • There is no Tecdiving logging application. The homepage sends owners straight to Subsurface and MacDive, so log transfer is entirely a libdivecomputer affair over Bluetooth.
  • Firmware flashing is a different matter and is Windows-only. The vendor's own instructions warn against virtual machines, and the flash is a two-stage bootloader-then-firmware sequence with a re-pair in the middle.
  • The Bluetooth upgrader application itself is not linked from the firmware page. The zips contain only the .ocf firmware image, so you will need to request the upgrader through the help desk.
  • McLean Extreme acquired the rights to this computer and forked its firmware. The two websites are published by the same author account, and McLean owners are essentially on later Tecdiving hardware.
  • Parts of the site carry an under-construction notice and the help desk knowledge base has one article, so plan on opening a ticket rather than self-serving.
